Renae Morriseau

Renae is a Cree (nehiyaw iskwew ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐤ ᐃᐢᑫᐧᐤ) and Saulteaux woman (nahkawiskwêw ᓇᐦᑲᐃᐧᐢᑫᐧᐤ) from the Treaty 1 Territory on the lands now known Manitoba. She’s been creating artistic works for most of her life and has journeyed across Canada and internationally in film, television, theatre and music. She is a singer, writer, dramaturg and director in both television and theatre. She is currently working on finishing her music CD and will be heading to Ottawa in December to direct Frances Koncan’s, Women of the Fur Trade. She’s honoured to be working with Bruce Sinclair and his play Mary of Patuanak.
