General AUDITIONs

Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre is holding general auditions, Holiday Cabaret auditions, and artistic introductions on Thursday, September 24th & Friday, September 25th, 2026 to get to know Saskatchewan artists. These will take place in person in Saskatoon.

Indigenous artists will be prioritized, but all artists of all experience levels are encouraged to submit.

For all auditions and introductions, GTNT may accept video or Zoom submissions from Saskatchewan artists, but preference will be given to those available to audition in person.

If there is a potential barrier that might prevent you from being able to audition, we encourage you to let us know so we can work with you to resolve it. 

  • Develop Skills. Learn the principles of acting, directing, stage management, and theatre design from local professionals.
  • Live Performance. Showcase your new skills in an Open House showcase and by acting in a semi-professional production for a live audience.
  • Experience Indigenous Culture. Receive mentorship and teaching on Indigenous history and cultural practices from community elders.
  • Celebrate Your Success. Celebrate your success in the program with a graduation feast to conclude the program.

GENERAL AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Please prepare a monologue (maximum 2 minutes) for your audition as well as a second piece of your choice. Your second piece can be a song, playing an instrument, a special skill, a second monologue or added conversation time.

Please submit a headshot and resume/CV (PDF format only) to pr@gtnt.ca with the subject line: General Auditions. Please specify any scheduling requests in the body of the e-mail. GTNT’s Artistic Director, Roxanne Dicke, and Artistic Associate, Kat MacLean, will be in attendance.

Holiday CABARET AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Please prepare your performance sample (maximum 5 minutes) for your audition. Dance, sing, tell jokes, juggle - whatever it is you do best, we want to see it!
