Hailing from the Cote First Nation of Treaty 4 territory, Aaron Shingoose is thrilled to be returning to theatre in general, but especially to be once again returning to work with Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan. He got his introduction to theatre at the Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre, then Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company, 2007 Circle of Voices Program, working primarily as an actor. In 2012 he shifted gears into working as GTNT’s in-house stage manager, those credits include: You Didn’t Hear It From Me/ Hospitals, Broken Pianos/ Native Studies 101/ The House You Build/ In Care/ Cree’s in the Caribbean/ Mekiwin: the Gift/ Nicimos. He has also enjoyed working with many companies including SUMTheatre {Alice in Wonderland/ Pied Piper} and Gwaandak Theatre {The Hours That Remain}, Persephone Theatre (Velveteen Rabbit), and as ASM for Persephone Theatre (The Fiancee/ The Herd), as well as numerous summers with Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan.
In the winter of 2018 he made his directorial debut with Alone@Home for GTNT.
