Mona Kormish

Mona Kormish is a member of Canoe Lake First Nations, with a mix of Cree, Métis, and English ancestry. She completed her B’Ed at the University of Saskatchewan. She now teaches in a rural school near the Battlefords, where she lives with her husband and three kids. Mona began working with GTNT in 2022 as a beginner playwright with their New Voices program, where she quickly realized how much she missed writing and collaborating with others. During her mentorship program, she aspired to create a play suitable for a younger audience that demonstrated the importance of sharing Indigenous culture from generation to generation. She feels honored to be a part of the GTNT community and work with such a talented group of individuals.
